My artifacts demonstrating this standard (What?)
During this semester, we had the opportunity of being in front of a high school class of English. It was certainly a challenge, but by applying what we have learned during these three semesters we could move on. To work with high school students can be a really hard thing since most of them are trying to develop their personality, so they do whatever the rest of them does. So, we needed to be really careful with all of them as individuals since only one of them could create a disaster in our class. First, we needed to get accustomed to a different level of learners that were demanding more from us. We needed to get used to what their likes and dislikes were, etcetera. Therefore, we needed to change our way of teaching and try to fit it in our students` needs.
It is crucial that we as EFL practitioners see our students` needs before start teaching a lesson. Hence, teaching high school was an experience that made all of us learn a lot because of the effort it requires and because of the characteristics of our students.

My Reflection on meeting this standard (So What?)
As we have mentioned before, teaching high school demands a lot if we want to be really good teachers. Therefore, to accomplish this goal, we need to adapt our way of teaching to the new generation of learners that have more and new needs. It would be a disaster if we try to teach a new generation (21st century learners) with the methods of the past. It is impossible that can even think about since the learning process would not take place in such an environment.
Effective EFL practitioners investigate and analyze what works the best for a determined group of learners. So, if we want our students to learn easier and better, we need to do the same and look for our students` benefits.
It is urged that we implement new and attractive ways of teaching so that we can gain our students` attention. And, we need to remember to treat them as individuals and look for their likes not ours.
All this can be reflected in our classes since we apply everything we have learned in classes at the university and in classes while being a teacher. We have tried to fulfill our students needs by implementing new and useful tools in our teaching practicum so as to show our students that English is rather easy and funny than difficult.
My Future Learning Goals related to this standard (Now What?)
The experience of being in front of a class has the power of changing our way of being and even thinking. During the last three semesters we have had the opportunity to be sharing with different kinds of students in our teaching experience. Some of them were really enthusiastic and liked to be in our classes doing the activities over and over again. However, some of them did not even like to be in an English class. We have learned that we need to treat each of them as an individual trying to make them understand that learning English is a really exciting experience that will be useful for the rest of their lives. That is how, we succeeded during our last practices.
Therefore, we have come to the conclusion that our future goals for our teaching practicum will be to encourage students to see English as a way of succeed in life. Our duty will be that of showing them the real use of English by using it in real-life situations. We will try to erase all those stereotypes from their minds about English such as: “learning English is difficult” “you will not learn English if you do not memorize its rules” etcetera.
Another goal will be to be more than just another teacher for them. We as EFL practitioners will play a role of facilitators, not only teaching them but also learning from them. It is important that we can build rapport with them and that we can keep their affective filter low so that the learning process can take place a lot easier.
