"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement; nothing can be done without hope and confidence." -- Helen Keller
Learning is a long process that can be achieved through life experience. During this activity, we had the opportunity to discover or shape some topics that are really interesting to empower our teaching and learning. To be sincere, we have to say that many of these topics were a review since we could put into practice what we have learned during the three semesters.
One of the most striking things we learned is to work as a group since when some of us were lost, the others had a solution for the problem. We supported each other in order to develop the task. Since we all have different ideas, capacities, strengths, as well as challenges, we consider that we are not only friends but also a complement to each other while doing academic tasks.
However, we must say that the directions were not clear enough to be understood. We are all aware that we need to be autonomous of our own learning, but the guidance of our facilitator was needed. It is true that the frustration we felt while developing this task permitted us to fight and seek for the unknown, but sometimes we felt as giving up for the confusion it caused us.
Finally, we consider important to point out that this activity gave us the tools to better our teaching practicum and philosophy as well. Also, we strongly believe that this activity helped us improve our skills to be better practitioners since we are teaching 21st century students.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
· We would like to recommend that you explain every single entry because in that way we are going to be aware of the purpose of each of them, and we are going to develop each of them having the way we must follow.
· We would like to recommend that you give directions personally because we know that technology is part of our world and our learning and that we must be autonomous of our own learning, but we did not have the opportunity to clarify doubts, ask you questions we had during the development of the task. We consider that being autonomous of our learning involves having a guide giving directions and facilitating the process.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
